Yes I Can is the story of the creation of the Jamaican bobsled team and their quest for gold at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, Canada. With dogged determination and an unwavering belief in themselves and in each other, Devon Harris, Michael White, Dudley Stokes and Chris Stokes achieved the impossible by qualifying as members of their nation's first Winter Olympic Team. This entertaining movie is loosely based on the true story of the original Jamaican Bobsled Team. After some start-up problems, a team is formed and heads to Calgary for the 1988 Winter Olympics. In the freezing weather Derice, Sanka, Junior and Yul are only laughed at, since nobody can take a Jamaican bobsledding team led by a disgraced trainer seriously. However, team spirit and a healthy dose of self confidence lead to a few surprises in the upcoming Winter Games.
